Sanjay Kumar was in the Indian Air Force, as a Supervisor in Air Traffic and Emergency(ARFF) Services before joining the Indira Gandhi Airport as a Safety Manager, responsible for the Safety of Passengers, Staff and Infrastructure. He holds Certifications like OHSAS 18001:2007(Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) Lead Auditor, ISO 22301:2012(Societal security — Business continuity management systems) – Implementer and ISO 39001:2013(Road traffic safety (RTS) management systems) – Implementer, implementation of which has helped enhance safety for its passengers and staff.
His exposure to Man-Made Disaster Management began while in service but was restricted to the military usage and defense.
Armed with a Post Graduate and a PG Diploma holder in Disaster Management and interested in CBRNe Management, he is trying to put systems in place at IGI and other Indian Airports, at Airport Level, to ensure the preparedness and readiness of the Airport to meet any surprises, should any group ever tries to cause any operational or maintenance disruption.

· Centre for CBRN Mitigation, Training and Research at Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Science(INMAS) – DRDO, New Delhi, and,
· Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India
He is liaising with the Home Ministry through respective departments for strengthening and ensuring proactive measures and to have regular exercises to challenge and measure up capabilities, in coordination with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), an apex body responsible for guiding the country against any Disaster.
